According to my scale, I lost two tenths of a pound yesterday. I'll take it. At that rate that would be about a pound and a half a week. While I'm hoping for a little better rate than that, it's certainly better than the other direction.
My body isn't aching nearly as much today. Not sure what was up yesterday.
My eating today was okay I suppose. Cantaloupe for breakfast, organic whole grain chips & home-made pico de gallo for lunch and for dinner... well, I couldn't resist a small grilled hamburger from the grill with a little bit of ketchup. Also had a little bit of potato salad and a handful of baby carrots and snap peas. Followed all of that with my second bottle of about 32 ounces of water. Then, 2 hours later... I'm hungry. Boy what I wouldn't give for something ooey & gooey. Settled for a coconut creme Lara Bar. It was good and satisfied the urge.
Will be going to bed soon as will need to get up early in the morning to take hubby to the airport.
See you tomorrow.

Short Post
Today was my 'unofficial' day one. Unofficial because the official date is Monday, June 1st. lol
I had a pretty productive morning. I made pico de gallo which takes forever to finely chop all those veggies. I did several loads of laundry including putting it all away. I re-mulched the planted area in front of our house. By 3pm my whole body is hurting so badly, I showered and sat down... in pain. I did take an anti-inflammatory and it seems to be helping a bit. My left wrist hurts really bad for some reason.
Had canteloupe & watermelon for breakfast. Snacked on some broccoli & cauliflowers as well as a Lara bar in the early afternoon. Had a spinach salad with tomatos, red onions, pecans & vegan ranch dressing after my 3pm shower. When the pizza arrived I was struggling. I had let myself get really hungry and that pizza smelled so dang good. But rather than indulge, I fired up the VitaMix and blended up a raw chocolate shake. 2 small bananas, 1 1/2 cup Almond Milk, 3T Carob Powder, 2-3 T Agave Nectar and about one cup of ice cubes. It was absolutely delightful and filled me UP!
Just realized it's a little after ten and I need to go to bed. Am trying to establish some new habits though and wanted to post even if only for my own journaling purposes.

First Post
Okay, so... I'm joining the masses in starting a blog to track the progress made in switching from a SAD (Standard American Diet) routine to a more healthy diet. Why don't I say what kind of diet? Because I'm not sure how far I will end up going. Vegetarian? Vegan? Raw Vegan? At present, Raw Vegan seems to make the most sense, but has greater limitations. I think I've learned better than to set expectations that just about guarantee failure.
My New Year's resolution was to live one day at a time. As simple as that sounds, it's one of the most difficult things for me. So, to that end, we'll see how my healthy diet evolves.
This irony struck me. Don't we always want to start our new diets on Mondays? Or no wait... how about the first of the month? Well, Monday IS June 1st so... no more excuses. Not to mention the fact that I woke up with another high blood pressure migraine this morning because my food choices went to crap the last few days. Trying to 'use up' the food we already have in the house. ugh...
So, I'm off! My daughter and I just got home from Whole Foods a little while ago and I've got a lot of fruit & veggies to wash & put away.
Until next time
